Mission
1. Mentoring, advocacy, and legal assistance for women who experience gender injustice.
2. Advocate for changes in laws and policies related to both the structure and substance of law and legal culture change within community practices and behavior.
3. Conduct community legal resource development, as well as come to realize access to justice for women and the poor.
4. Build and strengthen networks with various non-governmental organizations and the government.
5. Encourage the formation of service delivery institutions in the province of Bali.
6. Strengthen institutional capactiy at the Secretariat Level of LBH Bali.
7. Provide legal counseling, training, and empowerment of legal resources to the public and law enforcement in both the prevention and treatment of victims.
8. Conduct critical studies with a gender and human rights perspective regarding various laws, policies, and regulations as well as doing the preparation, manufacturing, distribution, and documentation of information about the cases handled.
9. Perform other activities as legitimate and not contrary to the principles, vision, mission and core values of LBH Apik Bali and the the federation of LBH Apik Indonesia.

Dr. I Ketut Sudantra, MA. Born in Lumbung, October 30, 1960. Lectures on subjects including ‘customary law’ and ‘gender law’ at the Faculty of Law, University of Udayana. Served as secretary of the Legal Studies Center, Unud (2001-2004); chariman of the Law Department and Society, Faculty of Law, Udayana University (2004-2008). Currently serves as the secretary of the Women’s Studies Center, Udayana University. Also active in the Institute of Indigenous Consultation/Cultural Bali Udayana University (Bali Shanti). Outside of campus, she has been active since 1995 in the development activities of traditional institutions, from 1995 working in cooperation with Bali Provincial Cultural Office, and since 2009 serving on the daily public affairs committee (Baha pawongan) Main Assembly Pakraman Bali. She is currently pursuing doctoral degree at the Faculty of Law, Brawijaya Unviersity, malang.
Luh Putu Anggreni. SH. Born in Singaraja, March 30, 1965. Bachelor of Law Faculty of University Udayana Law. Served as head of the legal division and owmen in Bali from Legal Aid 1998-2008. Was active in the NHO Bali Sruti (2004-2008) and from 2008-2011 served as the vice chairman of the Indonesia Commission for Child Perlingdungan area (KPAID) in the province of Bali. Now serving at LBH APIK Bali as general secretary.

Dr. Sita Thamar van Bemmelen, MA. Born in Groningen, the Netherlands, December 31, 1954, residing in Indonesia since 1991, in Bali since 1996, has Master of the Faculty of Arts, Utrecht University history department. Working as a project manager for ‘Development of Gender and Development Studies’ at the University as vice chairman (2004-2009). Since 2009 acting as Trustee to LBH APIK Bali. Author of Gender Equitable Society (VECO, Yogyakarta 2009); co-author Growing Seed (Galang Foundation, Yogyakarta 2000) and Indonesian Women as Mediators (KITLV, Leiden, 1987). Is currently preparing a PhD thesis (S3) at the Free University of Amsterdam.

Cok Sawitri. Born in Sideman (Bali) in 1968, is a journalist, novelist, playwright, poet, and activist. Her poetry, short stories, essays, and feature articles have appeared in most every major national literary publication. Translations of her work have appeared in Bali: Living in Two Worlds (2002) and Bali Rediscovered (2004). Her most recent published work, a novel titled Janda Dari Jirah (The Widow from Jirah), was short-listed for the 2006-2007 Khatulistiwa Literary Award. She has staged eighteen dramatic works and is well known in Bali and beyond for her work in community development and women's empowerment.
